Scenes From A River Seen

After spending a few weeks attending to various distractions, I resumed working on my ongoing documentary of the Pasig River rehabilitation effort. Most of my time was spent doing research, planning and contacting people for access. I'm leaving for Perth in a few days for further distractions. Hopefully, I'll start shooting again for this project when I return. In the meantime, here are some images that were displayed during the recently concluded UNA exhibit.

Disputed Territory

Back in Manila after a quick visit to TaƱon Strait, a marine sanctuary located between the islands of Cebu and Negros. Among the major fishing grounds in the region, this area is also a migration route for whale sharks and home for several species of dolphins. It was also discovered that around one billion barrels of oil can be extracted under its seabed. The government has been awarding contracts to survey and drill in the area despite its status as Protected Seascape.
