Welcome Home

Last year, I spent a lot of time with the Balangay Expedition Team while they were preparing for a journey around the Philippines and South East Asia in a replica of an ancient Filipino wooden boat. I posted the stories and images on this blog. Yesterday, I was at the Harbor Square in Manila Bay for a ceremony welcoming them back home after a 15-month voyage that included six South East Asian countries.

Moving Out

In Estero De Paco, one of the tributaries of the Pasig River, covering the relocation of informal settlers as part of the clean-up and rehabilitation program. Informal settlements situated along the banks of the river and its tributaries are one of the major sources of domestic pollution, discharging liquid and solid wastes into the water due to lack of proper sanitation facilities. The day ended with too many questions in my mind.
